Sheet pan onions or Sautéed Onion Hack. Whichever you prefer

Omg you guys, you know how like sautéed onions are BASIC! But, you have to watch them on the stove top to make sure they brown properly and so they don’t burn????

Well no more!!!!!!!!!

I present you the greatest hack of all time! Sautee them in the oven. Literally set and forget. If you don’t get how big of a game changer this is then you never slaved over a frying pan to get the most perfect onions!


  • 5 onions (or more!)
  • olive oil 
  • salt


  1. Slice onion the way you would for sautéing (half, long way, remove outer skin, slice thinly)
  2. Separate onions on to a sheet pan lined with baking paper
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  4. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 150-175c (350f) for an hour (or a bit more depending on oven.) You can mix randomly if edges start burning. But keep them spread out.
